Shopping for make up can be an incredibly daunting prospect for most women. Bombarded with magazine adverts and articles about miracle formulas or the latest colours, the thought of venturing out alone to try and make sense of it all can overwhelm even the most determined of shoppers. Not to mention the over enthusiastic 'shop girls' waiting on every counter to lure you in with tales of life changing lipstick. Returning home with products you didn't really want or aren't sure how to use is enough to send you running back to the same eye shadow and lipstick you've been using for the last four years.
But fear not, help is at hand! As a trained make up artist (and reformed shop girl, I know their game and how to beat them at it!) I can guide you through the make up department, helping you find the right products for you and your skin.
Whether you're starting a new job, a new relationship or heading off to get married and want to do your own make up, there's no denying that having the right products and knowing how to apply them can do wonders for your confidence. Whatever the occasion, I'll make sure you're armed with the right tools and know-how for the job.
Our session will begin before we meet, I'll send you a short questionnaire to allow me to find out what you're currently using, your skin type and what your aim for the session is. We'll then have a quick discussion on the phone to make sure I understand your brief and put your shopping trip in the diary.
The day itself will begin with a make up bag overhaul. We'll go through your current make up and discuss what is and isn't working and then, with the old stuff out of the way, we'll hit the shops together. Whether your budget is Selfridges or Superdrug, we'll search high and low to find products that work for you and your budget. And because I am completely independent you can be assured that the advice I give you is 100% impartial and based on experience and knowledge rather than commision.
Once we've brought your make up bag up to date we'll head home for a make up lesson. We'll talk through the products we've bought and how best to use them, then go through applying a perfect base, a day look, an evening look and anything inbetween. We'll talk about brushes, sponges, eyelash curlers and every other tool of the trade as well as make up maintenance & hygiene.
You'll be left feeling confident in the contents of your make up bag and what to do with them. And if, a few weeks down the line, you forget or start to feel unsure, you only have to pick up the phone or send me an email, I'd be happy to help.
And don't forget to check out my blog for product reviews, how to's and much more.
A make up shopping session & lesson costs £200 and includes a preparatory questionnaire and phone consultation plus a 4 hour session where we will review your make up bag, shop for products and finish with a make up lesson.
If you're interested in booking a session, purchasing a gift certificate or have further questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Make up lessons can also be booked for parties; from teenage sleepovers to hen nights or corporate funcitons, and additional qualified make up artists can be brought in to cope with larger numbers. Just get in touch for rates and availability.
